The ICO is the UK’s independent body set up to uphold information rights.
To comply with General Data Protection Regulations, Lynda Gooby and Michael Gooby from Essex Therapy Barn are members of the ICO (www.ico.org.uk) and follow the principles of the Data Protection Law.
Essex Therapy Barn have set out here, why and how we collect your data.
In accordance with the ICO, Essex Therapy Barn members will collect and keep data for the purpose of providing a therapeutic service. This data may include contact details, notes covering assessment, history, ongoing progress and any other information as is needed to provide the service and meet compliance requirements.
Essex Therapy Barn Therapists regularly attends supervision to help ensure the quality of practice. The shared information on the work being completed is anonymised. Once the work is completed the information is deleted or shredded.
Essex Therapy Barn will not pass on any information in accordance with BACP, NCPS or NMHS code of best practice unless legally bound.
All therapists working as members of The Essex Therapy Barn are independently registered with ICO - all have there own Data Protection Policy and also adhere to Essex Therapy Barn Data protection policy complying with GDPR.
As a members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and The National Hypnotherapy Society (MNHS), Essex Therapy Barn members work to the BACP/NCPS/MNHS code of ethics, working in accordance with their ethical framework for good practice.
